Two auctions conducted Jan. 28 by Fritz Rudolph Künker at the World Money Fair in Berlin realized an estimated 6,440,000 with the 15 percent buyer's fee ($7,873,430 in U.S. funds).

An 1849 Coronet, Open Wreath gold dollar graded Mint State 66 by Professional Coin Grading Service and stickered by Certified Acceptance Corp. realized $218,500 Feb. 5 in Long Beach, Calif.

Nearly $5 million realized at Stack's Americana auction

The Stack's New York Americana Sale, conducted Jan. 26 and 27 at the Director's Guild of America building, realized $4,939,975.65, including the 15 percent buyer's fee. The price realized is preliminary and unaudited, according to Stack's.
